EVENTS: BLUEQ Participates in IPA ADRION Thematic Cluster No. 6 Meetings
Representatives of the BLUEQ partnership participated in the online meetings of the IPA ADRION Thematic Cluster No. 6 – Biodiversity and Natural Marine Habitat Conservation.
The meeting, organized by the IPA ADRION Managing Authority and Joint Secretariat, brought together projects working on biodiversity conservation and marine habitat protection across the Adriatic-Ionian region. Its main objective was to strengthen cooperation among cluster projects, explore potential joint activities, identify synergies and complementarities, and discuss opportunities for policy uptake and capitalization of project results.
During the meeting, the BLUEQ partnership presented the project’s objectives, key activities and expected results, with particular focus on the mapping and monitoring of Posidonia oceanica meadows and the assessment of blue carbon stocks. The presentation also provided an opportunity to showcase the project’s contribution to marine ecosystem conservation through innovative monitoring approaches and transnational cooperation.
The event enabled BLUEQ partners to interact with representatives of other Cluster 6 projects, exchange experiences and knowledge, and discuss common challenges and opportunities related to marine biodiversity conservation. These exchanges represent an important step towards strengthening collaboration within the Cluster and maximizing the impact of project results across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
BLUEQ looks forward to continuing its engagement in Cluster 6 activities and contributing to future joint initiatives that support the protection and sustainable management of marine habitats.
The next Cluster 6 meeting will take place on 24 June 2026 in Rimini, Italy, as part of the IPA ADRION Capitalization Event “From Results to Uptake: Capitalising Project Results for Policy Impact and Future Programming”. The event will focus on how project results can be capitalized and transferred into policy-making processes, while also supporting the definition of future programme priorities. BLUEQ will actively participate in the thematic cluster discussions and collaborative activities taking place during the event.
