Technical Meeting for the BLUEQ Project in Podgorica, Montenegro

From 27–29 January 2026, the Institute of Modern Technologies Montenegro hosted a technical meeting for the BLUEQ project: Applied Solutions for Monitoring Coastal Habitats and Quantifying Blue Carbon Storage: An Integrated Approach for Sustainable Ecosystem Management.

The meeting brought together partners from across the Adriatic-Ionian region, including universities, research institutes, and development agencies, to review technical progress, share insights, and coordinate next steps.

  • Progress on joint pilot actions and solutions for monitoring Posidonia oceanica meadows

  • Development of a Blue Carbon Strategy and interactive digital tools to quantify ecosystem services

BLUEQ aims to enhance the conservation and management of blue carbon ecosystems, highlighting their crucial role in biodiversity, climate change mitigation, and coastal protection.
